About Me

CATHERINE TRINH, MS, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor

Catherine is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the Texas State Board. She holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University.

Her clinical experience provided counseling services for adults with neurological disabilities in an educational setting. She has also served a nonprofit organization for individuals experiencing trauma or crisis in an underserved rural community.  Additionally, she worked at an inpatient hospital providing psychological assessments, treatment planning and intervention, and clinical programming for patients and families.

Other works within healthcare included medical knowledge working for a family practitioner. She also volunteered at Methodist Hospital in the Medical Center to aid patients in long-term intensive care unit. With Victorium Clinical Research, she conducted protocols and clinical trials with innovative medicine and technology at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Catherine views every client experience as an opportunity for learning that continually develops throughout a lifespan. Her focus is on the development of coping strategies to target problem solving and changing unhelpful patterns in cognition (thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes), behaviors, and emotional regulation. She integrates personal growth and self-compassion techniques, while considering cultural context and addresses concerns of multidimensional factors that impact development.

As your therapist, she can support development of tools you need to heal, create meaningful connections with others, and live your life to its fullest potential. Therapy will help develop self-awareness, authenticity, responsibility, and the understanding of interpersonal relationships.
